E7024 Iron powder electrodes are a heavily coated electrode with a flux containing a high proportion of iron powder sufficient to give metal recovery rates in excess of 130% of the weight of the core wire melted. Iron powder electrodes are characterised by smooth even appearance and self-releasing slag. They are suitable for flat and H-V positions only.
